i love the internet!
last week i saw a tutorial on the fabulous blog i still love you
for a fringed leather necklace.
her post reminded me of some earrings i had seen not too long ago
and i knew what my weekend project was going to be - leather feather earrings!
all i had to get were some dopey leather bits from joanns
(gotta love those forty percent coupons! haha)
i knew my mom had given me some little eyelets/rivets
and it wasn't until i got home that i found out they were heart shaped!
extra cuteness bonus.
i also realized when i got home that i didn't have an eyelet setter,
but an exacto knife, screwdriver and tiny hammer
from a ten-in-one tool my mom had also given me
worked just fine.
man, three cheers for crafty moms!
this was my first time crafting with leather
and although i was a bit intimidated by the tools i thought i would need,
it was surprisingly uncomplicated and fun!
with plenty more leather tutorials on isly,
i'm sure i'll find something to do with my scraps :]
Cute!
