happy first day of fall!
i thought it would be fun to share this little fabric leaf garland tutorial with you
in celebration of colder days and pretty fall colors!
this is a great project for using up fabric and interfacing scraps,
and is easy enough to do while watching all the season premiers of your favorite shows... haha!
SUPPLIES
- pretty fall colored fabric scraps
- fusible interfacing
- paper, pencil, scissors
- yarn and a big yarn needle
- a leaf or two
trace a leaf or two onto some white paper and cut it out,
this will be your master pattern!
cut your fabric and interfacing scraps to be the size of your leaf pattern.
fuse the interfacing to the backs of the scraps.
the interfacing gives the fabric a little more support, and keeps the edges from fraying too bad.
then use your pattern to cut out your little leaves!
line up your leaves in order how you would like them,
then use some yarn to stitch them together.
find a little space that could use some fall color,
and hang up your latest crafty creation!
now i just have to get the rest of my house fall ready...
good thing tomorrow is saturday!
hope you all have a great weekend :]
That looks so pretty! I want leaf garlands all over the house! :)
