Roar!
Kid's Clothes week is over, phew, and what a week it was!
Although I finished up little man's costume on Friday night,
I didn't have a chance to get pictures of him till yesterday.
As I'm sure you can imagine, keeping this mane on his head was a bit tricky... haha.
For the mane I cut a hood out of an old t-shirt thinking it would be soft so little guy would actually wear it
and not thinking about how much it would stretch out sewing all that felt to it!
Good thing ended up looking great how large it was.
So I just cut strips of felt, folded them in half, and sewed them to the hood.
Then cut the strips to make a zillion little loops, nearly breaking my shears in the process.
Sometimes it looks a bit more like a judge wig than a lion mane,
but I'm pretty dang pleased it came out so well on the first try!
The pants are made out of some fuzzy stuff, and are so hilariously stiff on the poor guy.
Attached to the back is a little tail for dragging around in the dirt ;]
I was going to make a tan shirt and little fuzzy arm cuffs, but you know, time and all...
All in all, I am quite pleased with my first Kid's Clothes Week!
Of course my list of things to sew is still a mile long,
but this week proved to me that I do in fact have time to sew
and take care of a little person!
And that alone was worth the challenge :]
Time to keep sewing!!
Love that mane!
