I was looking through one of my Pinterest boards the other day and noticed quite a trend -
I am in love with black and white gingham this fall!
Somehow black and white gingham seems like the perfect transition
from floaty summer clothes to darker, cozy fall layers.
Today's DIY Style is dedicated to three ways to make and wear my current favorite print.
1. The Simple Tunic
I just love the large scale of this Write All Night shirt from ModCloth.
This Tunic Top 6148 pattern from New Look looks like the perfect fit,
just add some tabs to the sleeve to fold them up.
The other versions of this pattern have a really fun yoke too,
I think I might have to treat myself to a new pattern...!
2. The Classic Buttondown
There's nothing more classic than a plaid buttondown like this Ex-Boyfriend Shirt from Madewell.
Of course the Archer Shirt from Grainline is the perfect fit,
a pattern that I really need to get my hands on this fall.
3. The Flirty Dress
Yes, it's an awfully summery looking dress,
but I could see this Gingham Day Dress from Anthropologie looking just right for fall
with a big chunky sweater, some dark tights, and boots.
This Traveler Dress pattern from Lisette patterns looks like the perfect shirt dress!
I love the little puff sleeves and full skirt.
Now I'm off to finish up a little something I'm making to wear
to the PNW Blogger Holiday party this weekend!
Will I see you there?!
love these - great pics!
ReplyDeleteBlack and white, such a classic yet modern look. Love gingham checks.
